Beverly Hills was dressed to impress for the premiere of ‘Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé’, a new documentary about the 32-time Grammy winner’s ninth tour, which drew 2.7 million fans internationally and grossed $579 million in ticket sales alone.
The premiere of the film took place on November 25 at a gala held in Beverly Hills, Los Angeles, California. The event was attended by several celebrities, including former Destiny’s Child members Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett.

Who were Destiny’s Child? This is their story...
Destiny’s Child, originally called Girl’s Tyme, was an R&B music group formed in Houston in the early 90′s. At that time, the group was made up of six women, but in 1996, after changing their name to Destiny’s Child, the group became a quartet: Beyoncé, LeToya Luckett, LaTavia Roberson and Kelly Rowland.
In 2000, Luckett and Roberson left the group after problems with their manager, arguing that the percentage of their earnings was disproportionate as it unfairly favoured them compared to what Beyoncé earned. It was then when Michelle Williams and Farrah Franklin joined as substitutes, but Franklin left the group only five months later, paving the way for the trio of stars we know today as Destiny’s Child: Beyoncé, Rowland and Williams.
Following the exit of Luckett and Roberson, Beyoncé, Williams and Rowland brought out three studio albums. However, after embarking on a world tour, the group announced their decision to break up in 2006. Let’s see how each one of them got on since then...
Beyoncé
Beyoncé started her solo career in 2003 when she launched her first album, titled Dangerously in Love, with the hit single Crazy in Love with Jay-Z becoming one of the most memorable and successful songs of the artist to this day. The album sold more than 11 million copies worldwide and took Beyoncé to the next level in terms of fame and attention.
Today, Beyoncé is one of the most influential women in the world of music. The artist holds the record for the highest number of Grammys won in history, with 32 in her possession.

LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson
After leaving Destiny’s Child, Luckett and Roberson formed the duo R&B Anjel, but their success was limited and in 2003 it was announced that they had stopped the project. For some time, both got by on royalties from the former quartet, until 2006, when Luckett signed a solo deal with Capital Records.
Unfortunately, her name in the music industry failed to regain relevance, which led her to step aside after releasing three studio albums. However, this was just a bump in the road, as Luckett eventually found her true vocation: acting. In front of the camera she has had an outstanding career, mainly appearing in films for television and reality shows.
As for Roberson, she went through a period of severe depression and struggled with alcoholism after the dissolution of Anjel, which forced her to live solely on Destiny’s Child royalties for some time. Thankfully LaTavia managed to recover, and she ventured into the world of theatre.
As well as this, she became a mother, starred in web series and eventually returned to music. In 2018, she founded Roberson Sports Management, a representation company for up-and-coming boxers.
Kelly Rowland
Like Beyoncé, Kelly began her solo career during Destiny’s Child’s hiatus in 2003. The artist’s first solo album, Simply Deep, sold three million copies worldwide, while her second, titled Ms. Kelly, was released after the breakup of the R&B group.
After leaving Destiny’s Child and ending her contract with Columbia Records, Rowland joined up with David Guetta where, in 2009, they released When Love Takes Over, a song that won a Grammy in 2010.
A year later she released her third album, Here I Am, which featured collaborations with artists such as Pitbull, David Guetta and Lil Wayne. Her fourth and final solo album was released in 2013 and was titled Talk A Good Game.
In addition to her musical career, Rowland also ventured into reality TV by being part of the judges on The X Factor.
Michelle Williams
Michelle also released music as a solo artist during the group hiatus, with her first project called Heart to Yours, becoming the best-selling Gospel music album of the year. After Destiny’s Child spilt up, Williams moved into Pop music and released her second album, Unexpected.
Afterwards, Williams moved away from music in order to pursue her dream of becoming an actress, where she landed leading roles on Broadway as well as various TV appearances. She has also participated in Reality TV shows such as Top Pop Group on MTV, Strictly Come Dancing in the UK and The Masked Singer.
