He was born in Kerrville, Texas and adopted by Dr. John Burleson Woodall and Hannah Hiese Woodall.

He was a graduate of Port Arthur High School, Port Arthur, TX and a 1964 graduate of Texas University and a 1968 graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch of Galveston, Texas. Upon graduation he was sworn in as a Captain and re- ported to Fort Sam Houston Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas and served in the United States Army for twenty three years, retiring as a Colonel. In 1991 he joined Alabama Neonatal Medicine in Montgomery, working until his retirement in 2011. Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Mary Ella Woodall; son John Mark Woodall of State Road, NC; daughter Lori Ann Skowronski and her husband Michael Skowronski, of Mont- gomery, AL; grandchildren, David James Voorhees (Roxanne Hill), Timothy John Voorhees (Tayler Lawson), of Montgomery, AL; Megan Nicole Skow- ronski and David Michael Skowronski, of Florida. Great-grandchildren, Hunter Stewart Payne Dailey, Pierson James Voorhees, Hayes Xavier Voorhees, Kaydence Amelia Voorhees, Lila MacKenzie Voor- hees and Nora Jean Voorhees.

His siblings, Joan McClelland and her husband Malcolm, of Tyler, Texas; Barbara Bush Behrens, of Winters, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and sibling Alice Jean Goodell. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Grace Presbyte- rian Church, located at 5 Bell Road, Montgomery, AL 36117. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to The Wounded Warrior Project or the Good Samaritans Fund at Grace Presbyterian Church, 5 Bell Montgomery, AL 36117. John Burelson Woodall PRATTVILLE Colonel (Ret.) Phillips, Robert S. (Stan), a resident of Prattville, AL, died October 5, 2019. Funeral services will be held on October 9, 2019 at Dalraida United Methodist Church. Visitation will be at 1PM and service at 2:00 pm with Rev.

Tom Taylor officiating. He was born on September 29, 1933 in Staunton, Virginia to Robert Hamner Phillips and Elise Fauver Taylor Phillips. Colonel Phillips was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife of 47 years, Vivian LaGene Phillips, his son, Robert Stanley and his sister, Mary Anne Hardy. He is survived by his wife, Hazel B. Phillips; his daughter Genie and her husband Joseph Goodreault of Orinda, California and 3 grand- daughters, Elise (Alex) Van Drunen, Madeline Goodreault and Taylor Phillips and grandson Joey Goodreault, one sister Elise Phillips and brother Joseph Phillips and wife, Debbie.

Colonel Phillips was retired from the United States Air Force and Max Credit Union. He was an active member of the Dalraida United Methodist Church, serving as head usher and as a member of the Finance Committee, Staff Parish Relations Committee and the Administrative Council. Colonel Phillips served his country for over 26 years as a pilot, staff officer and commander. He flew combat in the C-123 (k) in Vietnam where he completed 165 missions. He was awarded the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, and the Air Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters.

Following his military career he began a new career as the Operations Manager (branches) at Max Credit Union where he served over 20 years as an employee and a year and a half as a consultant. He was subsequently elected to the Board of Directors where he served for seven years. He was a member of Beta Alpha PSI Beta Gamma Sigma, and served as president of the Military Officers Association of America and the Flight Captain of the Flight of the Order of Daedalians at Maxwell AFB, Alabama. He was a proud member of the General Richard Montgomery Chapter (serving as President in 2008 2009; and also a member of Gen. Archer Elmore Chapter in Prattville, of the Sons of the American Revolution.

To express online con- dolences please visit www.prat- tvillememorial.com Linda Kay Grisham On Sunday, September 29, 2019, Cynthia Zim- merman, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at the age of 65. Born in Montgom- ery, Alabama on July 29, 1954, she was the daugh- ter of Willie Frank and Catherine Ivey.

Cynthia graduated from St. Jude Educational Institute in 1972. She later married her high school sweetheart, Michael Zimmerman, on November 30, 1974. They raised two children, Kierra and Justin. Cynthia was a voracious reader who instilled a passion for education in her children.

She loved watching movies, shopping, and spending time with her family. She was known for her smile and impeccable personality. Family and friends would say she was determined and had a feisty spirit with a lot of love. Cynthia spent most of her working life as a credit union representative and supervisor at Valley Bank in Moreno Valley, CA and Arrowhead Credit Union in Riverside, CA. Cynthia was preceded in death by her father, Willie Frank, and her brothers, Stanley and Willie Frank Jr.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Michael; her daughter, Kierra; son, Justin; mother, Catherine; siblings: Sandra, Constance, and LaDos- ca Ivey; many nieces and nephews; daughter-in-law, Vicktery; and other relatives and friends. Special thanks to her brother-in-law, Curtis; nephew, Ka- reem; niece, Adrienne; and daughter, Mfon, for acting as her caretakers. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at Amos Temple-Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 17925 Iris Ave, Riverside, California. Cynthia Zimmerman John Henry Garrett was born in Birming- ham, AL on September 20, 1944 to the late Ira E.

Garrett and Lula M. Garrett-Boswell. Grave- side services will be held Thursday, October 10, 2019 at 11:45 a.m. from Alabama National Ceme- tery, Montevallo, AL. He graduated from Rosedale High School in Homewood, AL.

He attended Miles College and graduated from Concordia University. He relocated to St. Louis, Mo. and married Princetta Wallace. That marriage produced two sons and one daughter.

They remained married until her death in 2008. He later met and in 2011 married his current wife Rochelle Garrett. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. His pro- fessional career included several public and private accounting positions in the health care industry culminating as Chief Financial Officer of the Jef- ferson County Cooper Green Hospital. John was proceeded in death by his oldest broth- er, Ira.

He was a devout Catholic in every city he resided. John will be forever remembered and loved by his wife Rochelle Garrett children, John (Donna) of Lawrenceville, GA, Kenneth (Vanetra) of Keller, TX, Prinsetta Teague of Birmingham; grandchil- dren, Jayla and Kenneth Garrett of Keller, TX, Freddie Teague and Joy Harris of Birmingham and John Garrett of Lawrenceville, GA; a step-daughter, Angelique James (Ray) and step grandson, Nolan of Atlanta, GA; mother-in-law, Mrs. F. Jean Brewer; three devoted sisters, Gwendolyn Garrett Reed, Vonner B. Moore (Willie) and Dr.

Brenda B. Adams (William) of Birmingham; sister-in-law Carolyn Garrett of Rio Vista, CA and his Aunt Alberta of Childersburg, AL; John also has a large extended family in Birmingham and St. Louis along with numerous friends. The processional will leave from Ross-Clayton Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. John H.

Garrett PRATTVILLE (No- vember 21, 1932 Octo- ber 7, 2019) Marshall J. Atches- on, 86 of Prattville, AL passed away Monday Oc- tober 7, 2019 at the Bill Nichols Home in Alexander City. Mar- shall is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Atches- on, his parents, Howard and Lona Atcheson, three sisters, Mary Chambers, Margaret Holloway, Elzia Griffin and one brother, Forest Atcheson. He is survived by two daugh- ters, Brenda Atcheson and Vicki Jackson (Jack), one grandson, Loren Jackson, one granddaughter, Amanda Jennings (Andrew), three great-grand- children, Myla, Jace and Landon, one brother, William Atcheson and many nieces and nephews and their families. Marshall honorably served his country in the Air Force from 1952 1959.

He then began his Civil Service career of over 37 years. He enjoyed westerns, golf, football and spending time with his family. He was a husband and father who dearly loved and always took care of his family. Marshall was a true gentleman to everyone around him. He will be missed dearly by all who had the chance to know him.

Services for Mr. Marshall Atcheson will be held at Prattville Memorial Chapel, 841 Fairview Avenue, Prattville, AL 36066. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 9th from 5:00 pm 7:00 pm. Funeral will be Thursday, October 10th at 11:00 am with Dr. Matt Mobley of Mulder Memorial UMC officiating.
