You can serve these fried bananas as an after dinner dessert or even for breakfast. Either way, remember to use a great olive oil, as it´s what really flavors this dish.

TIPS & TRICKS to Make this Recipe: I used bananas I bought 3 days before I made the recipe. That way they are not green or fully ripe. You want them right at the middle. As it gives them the perfect texture.

    Friend

Just tried making these with my kids. Our bananas might have been a bit overripe, so they fell apart a bit, but it all tasted good! We don’t normally eat fried food, but at least these are fried in olive oil. I hope Spaniards aren’t transitioning to cheaper cooking oils these days. These don’t really need the honey, but it adds an extra touch, and maybe some additional enzymes.

I’m looking for traditional Spanish recipes that can be adapted to use kosher meats (ex. no pork, shrimp), and ideally looking for recipes that could be gluten free.

I keep imagining a potato salad with green olives in it. I know that there is a Greek? salad called Salad Oliviea (not sure how to spell that), but I’m wondering if there are any Spanish ones.

Are there Spanish health foods? In the US, we have this sort of thing where out on the rural areas, many people are overweight as most of them don’t do agricultural work and drive into towns and cities for fast food and buy processed foods from grocery stores. But they still have traditional foods, some of which are more or less healthy.

Is there a difference in Spain as to what is traditionally served in restaurants and what is cooked at home?

My Mexican stepdad cooks for us traditional foods from Mexico that seem fairly healthy, but he says that many people in Mexico today no longer eat like this. They are catching on to more American westernized foods.

North American foods are popular here in Spain, but mostly for the younger people, most folks still eat traditional Spanish food, whether at home or at restarants, I actually have a potato salad coming up next week 🙂 much love
