Obituaries also offer provide a final public memorial. If you have questions about this between 8:30 a.m. and p.m. WWII, she never shirked from any task, regardless how daunting.

And you can imagine how daunting it must have been to raise her five kids, each with their own inimitable style. Her perseverance at living life to the fullest became a trademark for those who knew her well. Social activities for most of Bea and Clair's married life revolved around church, square dancing, and later, golf, hiking and walking in Watertown, SD. After moving to Fort Collins, CO, they traveled to Alaska, Ireland and Europe, took winter sojourns to the Southwest and eventually re -located to Rapid City in 2002. Finally, their move to Pierre in 2009 brought them full circle, again close to their central South Dakota roots.

While in Pierre, Mom continued working out at the Avera Maryhouse Physical Therapy Center and enjoyed her time with staff as they put her through a fitness regime that kept her coming back time and again from debilitating injuries and health setbacks. The determination this private, shy and extremely devout Catholic lady exhibited Many, many stories have come from the time spent on the ranch with family and friends. Some of these have been put into drawings by a good friend and neighbor. From the ranch, Abbie Lane and 1 Donald bought the Mud Butte Store in 1975. They lived at and ran the store and Post Office until she sold the store in 1986, and moved back to the ranch.

From the ranch she moved into Sturgis, where she spent the remainder of her years. She worked many years at the Fort Meade Museum setting displays, giving tours, documenting donations and keeping records of inventories. Abbie Lane completed profession in Minneapolis, Portland, and retired after many years at Swedish Hospital in Denver. Having no children of her own, she delighted in her five nephews, a great -nephew and great -nieces. She developed many health problems and moved to Spearfish six years ago to be near her sister, Karen and nephew, Rob.

She resided at Edgewood Vista where she was marveled for her determination to participate despite her many challenges. "She just keeps going," they said, "she's the Energizer Bunny!" She was God's faithful servant in the congregation at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Denver, for many years and Chord and Joe Brown before moving to Enning. There they raised seven children. She taught in rural Meade County over 20 years. She also taught Sunday school at the White Owl church for many years.

After retirement, she found satisfaction in helping people find wellness with Melaleuca products. She was an avid gardener and especially loved her flowerbeds. Grateful for having shared her life are her children: Darrel Connie Mickelson, Linda Jim retired Sept. 30, 1979, after 23 years of dutiful service. He spent many dedicated hours serving the community by volunteering in organizations such as TREA, Lions Club of Box Elder, Eagles Club and Knight of Columbus.
