How much does it cost to ride the QM15? ›

MTA New York City Transit - Express routes QM15 (Howard Beach 102 St Via Woodhaven Bl) ride fare is about $7.00. Prices may change based on several factors.

Subways and buses

Fare for most riders on subways and local, limited, and Select Bus Service buses: $2.90. Express buses cost $7. Tap to pay your fare with your contactless credit/debit card, smartphone, or OMNY card, or pay with a MetroCard.

Tap your contactless credit or debit card, smartphone, or wearable device at the OMNY reader as you enter. On local, limited, and express buses, you must enter and use the reader at the front door. On SBS buses, enter at any door and use the reader there.

The NYC Express Bus provides airport transportation to and from Manhattan and JFK & LaGuardia Airports. We depart to Grand Central & Times Square in the heart of Manhattan, 7 days a week from 11:00am-7:00pm.

Many buses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but be sure to check whether your route offers overnight service. A schedule and route map posted at the bus stop indicate when the bus should arrive and where it will go.

Express buses only accept 7-Day Express Bus Plus MetroCard or Pay-Per-Ride MetroCard. All of our buses and +SelectBusService Coin Fare Collector machines accept exact fare in coins. Dollar bills, pennies, and half-dollar coins are not accepted.

The QM1, QM5, QM6, QM7, QM8, QM31, QM35, and QM36 bus routes constitute a public transit line in New York City, operating express between Northeast Queens and Midtown or Downtown Manhattan.

If you're 65 or over, you can sign up in person and receive your new Reduced-Fare MetroCard the same day. If you have a disability, you can receive in-person, individualized assistance from a station agent and get a temporary Reduced-Fare MetroCard to use while your application is processed.

Reduced-fare MetroCards and One Metro New York (OMNY) are available for riders who are 65 or older or riders who have qualifying disabilities. The reduced fare is half the base fare. (For example, the base fare for subways and local buses is $2.90, so the reduced fare is $1.45.)

The Express Buses

The express bus fare is high -- $6.50, and it can be paid with the MetroCard Pay-Per-Ride or the 7-day MetroCard Bus Express Plus or cash, but always with the exact amount and in coins and no pennies.

You can pay on the bus with cash, contactless or a debit or credit card.

Up to three children under 44 inches tall ride for free when they're with a fare-paying adult. You pay the fare at turnstiles before you board the train. You don't have to do anything as you exit.

To pay your fare at subway turnstiles, AutoGates, and onboard buses (including Select Bus Service buses), simply tap your own contactless credit or debit card, smart device, or OMNY card on the OMNY reader.

When you purchase an Express bus ticket, you are allowed for up to two (2) suitcases and one carry-on. There are times that a passenger might travel with more than two luggage. In the case you have more than two luggage, then you have to purchase an additional regular priced ticket for each additional piece of luggage.

Compared to city buses, which stay within a city or maybe just pass into neighboring cities, intercity and express buses go much farther distances. City buses stop at bus stops, while intercity and express buses stop at terminals.

You can use public transportation to avoid the hefty cab prices. Take the JFK's AirTrain, their public transit line to connect with New York City's subways, buses, and rails. Public transportation is the most affordable way to get to downtown, and may be the fastest with traffic.

And the bus does prove to be a safer alternative, according to an analysis by The Post. Data from September through February show riders had a more than 50% chance of encountering crimes including assault, sex offenses, disorderly conduct or harassment on the subway than on the bus.

Originally a streetcar line along Second Avenue, it is now the M15 bus route, the busiest bus route in the city and United States, carrying 16.4 million riders annually.
