Controverisla talk show hostJeremy Kyle has seen his life change quite substantially over the last few years.

When the former ITV star's self-titled show, The Jeremy Kyle Show, came to a close, he focused on his family and married his now-wife Vicky Burton just two years later.

His show ended in May 2019 following the death of a guest, Steve Dymond, who died a week after failing a lie detector test while being questioned on an affair.

Jeremy Kyle disappeared from our TV screens for three long years, only to make his return earlier this year with the biggest interview of his career. Now hosting his own show on TalkTV, Jeremy's world looks different compared to when his former series was cancelled amid a whirlwind of controversy and devastating tragedy.

His previous show, The Jeremy Kyle Show had commanded ITV's daytime schedule for an impressive 14 years before it was abruptly pulled off air and ultimately cancelled in May 2019, following the heart-breaking death of guest Steve Dymond.

Dymond, 63 at the time, had appeared on the show to take a lie detector test in hopes of proving his fidelity to his on-and-off fiancee a claim he staunchly defended but was later revealed to have failed the test, whose results aren't entirely accurate. After filming ceased, a distressed Dymond confessed to one of the show's researchers "I wish I was dead" before being sent home in a taxi merely two hours later.

Tragically, just days afterwards, Steve was found lifeless in his rented room in Portsmouth. The subsequent autopsy report shed light on his cause of death, a lethal combination of a morphine overdose and left ventricular hypertrophy.

In response to this shocking event, both filming and broadcasting of The Jeremy Kyle Show were suspended immediately as a serious review took place. It was during this period that revelationary insights from former staff and guests painted a startling picture of what really went on behind the scenes.

Jeremy Kyle has been left shattered after discovering that Steve Dymond, a guest on his show, was found deceased shortly after filming. At the time, Jeremy expressed his heartbreak: "Myself and the production team I have worked with for the last 14 years are all utterly devastated by the recent events. Our thoughts and sympathies are with Steve's family and friends at this incredibly sad time."

In a candid revelation in September 2021, Jeremy opened up about feeling "scapegoated" following the cancellation of his show in the wake of the tragedy. He shared his belief that critics would claim he 'got a taste of his own medicine', but stressed that the incident had taken a severe toll on him amidst other personal challenges.

He explained how he had dealt with personal challenges and battled anxiety and depression at one stage and couldn't bring himself to leave the house.

After the show, Jeremy's former home with his ex wife was placed on the market and he threw himself into his new life with now-wife Vicky Burton.

The pair started dating in 2017, two years before his show came to an end, but in 2020, they welcomed their first child together, their son Oliver. The following year in 2021, Jeremy and Vicky tied the knot.

More recently, Jeremy welcomed another child with Vicky in 2024 who they named Iris, making her Jeremy's sixth child.

He shares two daughters, Alice and Ava, and a son Henry with Carla Germaine. He also has a daughter Harriet from his first marriage to Kirsty Rowley.

However, he did single out some "brilliant" showbiz friends who remained by his side, including Dec Donnelly, Eamonn Holmes, Ruth Langsford and Rob Rinder. Jeremy also praised Piers Morgan for reaching out straight away and Kate Garraway for taking the time to get in touch.

After the fallout, Jeremy returned to screens as part of new channel TalkTV, appearing as a panellist alongside the likes of Sharon Osbourne and covering for Piers Morgan. After impressing bosses, he managed to scoop his own nightly chat show.
